When Sherry reached out to share her story, it left a mark. There was no grand venue, no crowd, no chandeliers – just love, trees, and a cliffside breeze.
She met her now-husband in a sporting goods store. He helped her find a pair of shoes, asked her out, and got a "no." But Sherry changed her mind, came back, and asked him on a date. That beginning led to two years of love, a beachside proposal, and eventually – a wedding that wasn’t what they originally imagined… but became even more special.
Their wedding plan was interrupted by Covid. Instead of postponing indefinitely, they eloped to a state park with four guests. They hiked up a trail, changed into their wedding clothes behind a sheet, and had a mini-reception with cupcakes and cider. Their vows were sealed with a kiss – cheered on by kayakers floating below.
